Our Prediction:

Stoke will win

Birmingham – Stoke Match Prediction | 26-08-2019 10:00

They have conceded two or more against Rotherham, Leeds, West Brom, and Wigan to produce damaging results to their promotion bid. These results had come after a pretty awful start to the season, in which Stoke looked unprepared for the challenges of the Championship. With an attacking force of Benik Afobe, Tom Ince, and Saido Berahino, they at least looked dangerous going forward but conceded so many goals that it negated their effect.

Despite this, it was arguably in the game they played the worst in that has produced the most promise. In their last game before the international break, Stoke grabbed a 1-0 away win at Norwich, thanks to an own-goal from defender Timm Klose. Stoke were dominated for most of the game but what will have pleased manager Gary Rowett was that they managed to hold on for the win, away from home, against a team that had been unbeaten for over a month.

Moreover, several of Birminghams draws can be seen as points gained. It understandably raised questions about the quality of the side but the wins against Rotherham and Leeds have done much to ease concerns. They were dominated in matches against QPR and Sheffield United but held on, whilst they came from two goals down to draw with Ipswich and an away draw at Brentford is a good result.

Birmingham vs Bristol City Prediction

The hosts are on the back of a 3-0 away win, but theyve scored the majority of their goals at home this season. Theyve scored at least twice in six of their last seven home matches, scoring three in all but one of their last four here. While Stoke have produced only two away wins, Birmingham have suffered one home defeat. Were confident that theyll avoid a loss here, and judging by the strength of their last display, we think Birmingham are great value Draw No Bet.

However, their big issue this season has been failing to reproduce their home form on their travels. A huge 62% of their points so far have come in front of their home fans, as theyve produced just two league wins on the road this season. They claimed a victory on Saturday, edging out Millwall 1-0 at the bet365. They make a tough trip having conceded close to 60% of their goals this season away from home, which could spell trouble in this clash.

Our prediction for this Championship match:

Can the Blues deliver a victory when they host Stoke this weekend, or will the visitors continue their push for a top-six finish? The pair are neck and neck in the table, but who will edge in front in this one? Birmingham produced a resounding weekend win to head into Christmas Day on a high. Their 3-0 demolition of Wigan was a great result for their travelling support, but theyre back home for Boxing Day.

Over the past five matches, Birmingham have had their first two wins of the season. Another side who have come into form recently have been Birmingham, who are on an eight-game unbeaten run. The first was one of the most impressive in the league so far, a 2-1 victory away at Leeds, who had been unbeaten at that point, whilst in their last match, they beat Rotherham comfortably 3-1, with Lukas Jutkiewicz scoring a hat-trick.

Up front, Che Adams scored a brace against Leeds, whilst Lukas Jutkiewicz now is on six for the season after that hat-trick against Rotherham. With such potency in attack, it is hard to see Birmingham involved in another relegation battle this season. Record signing Jota has started to influence games more, such as providing the assist for the goal against Brentford. The recent improvement in mentality has to be down to Birminghams attacking force finally finding some form.

After ending his loan spells with Real Madrid Castilla and Eibar in 2014, he decided to take a step forward in his career, signing a three-year deal with Championship side Brentford for an undisclosed fee. Jota quickly established himself as the first-team regular with the Bees and it has to be noted that he scored 23 goals in 69 appearances for the club in the Championship.
