Kildimo/Pallaskenry – Blackrock Match Prediction | 06-10-2019 08:45

Hope to see our supporters there to help the lads get to a County Final! This semi-final is due to take place on Tuesday, October 9 in Mick Neville Park against Fr. Caseys at 8pm. Well done to all involved, to the management team of Noel McCarthy, Killian OLeary and Sean Cuddihy for leading us to a semi-final! We are now in a semi-final in both codes, something only two other sides in the county can claim and is a great achievement, with largely a very similar panel!

We are two points better off than at the same stage last year, but have four tough games to come following the summer break. level the game. It was hugely disappointing for our lads to drop a point in that manner, but we remain ahead of the pack, level on five points with Bruff after three games. Wed like to wish the very best of luck to the considerable number of Kildimo/Pallaskenry players involved with various county setups and also to a number of injured players, that they will be back in fighting fitness by the time Championship resumes!

Another free for Adam Butler after Darren OConnell had been fouled, as he burst through on goal, saw us move into a 7-point lead about halfway through the first half. He beat his marker to the ball and turned provider for Jack OKeeffe, who showed lovely, quick hands to pop the ball over the bar before he could be closed down. Adam Butler then converted his first free of the game early in the second half, and Darren OConnell also became more prominent in attack. The Blackrock goalkeeper emerged with the ball, but was dispossessed by Barry OConnell, who did brilliantly to sidestep away from the Blackrock backs and then buried the ball into the bottom corner. But we certainly had the better of the opening stages of the second half and moved to extend our advantage early on, and we soon had raised a green flag of our own to cancel out that late first-half goal for Blackrock.

Both sides will have learned a lot from the match in April, and we have racked up some big tallies ourselves, not to mention being very hard to beat, as our record bears out! We also have Dave OConnor and Brendan OShea responsible for first aid, and Paudie Ivess as physio! anna McGarrigle of Pallaskenry is selector as well as being responsible for statistics, while Liam Hurley of Kilmallock is trainer. Clubmen Jim Maher and Sean Cuddihy are also involved in the backroom side of things, while the legendary Alan Fitzgerald is kitman! We are managed by Chris Sexton, who led the club to Intermediate glory in 2017! Fellow Bruree man Peter Finn, who coached has won county titles with Effin, Dromin/Athlacca and Charleville, is coach.

Our backs were dominant throughout, keeping Blackrock scoreless from open play for the first 15 minutes of the second half. But Blackrock swarmed in numbers around their own half-back line and midfield, and it was from there that they would build a platform through work rate. The first half had been quite open, the second half was a real battle, full of intensity, which did make it every entertaining for any neutrals in attendance. Tony McCarthy and Can Hayes down the spine of the defence had huge games, offering real leadership also, but all our backs had the better of their men.

It was also great to see Mikey Dillon get his first Championship start of the season; Mr. It was a fine performance, but we will need to reach another level next weekend in a county semi-final as we take on Garryspillane, a side very experienced in the knockout stages! Keep an eye on social media and the Team App for details of next weeks County Semi-Final! Brendan OShea became our 22nd player to make an appearance in Championship this season, again showing the importance of panel depth as we have had a number of injuries this season! Liam Griffin rounded off the scoring with another pointed free after Jack OKeeffe had been fouled, giving us a 12-point victory. For a man who made his debut in 1995, it is a credit to the man that he is still delivering for his club all these years later! Versatility himself is well-known for his ability to fill in in a number of positions and this time, he slotted into the full-back line when there was a vacancy and did a great job! Well done to all involved; the management team of Chris Sexton, Damien Gillane, Pat Enright, Jim Maher, Paudie Daly, anna McGarrigle and Alan Fitzgerald have done a great job thus far and we wish them all the luck heading into next weekends semi-final!

Kyle Hayes opened our account with a nice point from play, before turning provider for his midfield partner, Barry OConnell, who split the posts from out on the left wing. PREMIER INTERMEDIATE HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP: Kildimo/Pallaskenry 1-16 Blackrock 1-16. Our Premier Intermediate hurlers remain joint top of the Championship table heading into the summer break, after earning a draw against Blackrock in Kilmallock in what was an entertaining contest. Adam Butler then got on in the act, as he sent over a glorious point from way out on the left also and this gave us an early 0-3 to 0-2 lead. The opening stages were very lively and we moved into an early lead. It is one which we felt we could have won, having led for large portions of the game, but the men from Kilfinane/Ardpatrick fought to the bitter end to earn the draw. John Chawke was then called into action to make a smart save as the Blackrock forward came in along the endline, John was confident and assured between the sticks all evening.
