Our Prediction:

Houston (W Miley) will win

LA Angels (D Peters) – Houston (W Miley) Match Prediction | 24-08-2019 19:10

This will be his first time ever facing the Astros. He also struggled with his command in that match, giving out 4 free passes and only striking out 3. Hes bounced back and forth to the minors a couple of times this season, where his numbers have been even worse than in the majors. Dillon Peters will take the ball for the Angels after a rather forgettable 4-inning performance against the Rangers where he gave up 5 runs, 4 earned. He began the year in the pen for the Angels before becoming a mainstay in the rotation starting in late July.

In the short term however, the Angels have seen the most contribution from the young Brian Goodwin, who they picked up off the trash heap during the offseason after the Royals cut him. Goodwins been good all season, proving to be an excellent and cheap pickup. He has been hot in the last 7 games with an 8-for-22 performance along with two homers and 3 doubles to lead the club in extra base hits.

They are in good shape at the moment and they won last four games in MLB including yesterday's match against Houston. Los Angeles is 4th on the table of AL West Division with 49w and 46l. They will start this match with Heaney on mound. Astros will start this match with Armenteros on mound. On the other side Houston is 1st on the table of AL West Division with 59w and 36l. Match from MLB league, Angels will host Astros tonight and this game will take a place at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, home of LA Angels. I like Angels in this one.

Note: bookmakers' policies on voided matches changes so we always recommend players to check the specific terms of bookmakers they bet with to ensure they understand under what circumstances they void bets. Void bets occur when the bet is not decided as a win or loss and the stake is returned to the player. a common void bet occurs in tennis when a player retires through injury. This happens when a match is suspended, posponed, or cancelled e.g.

Calhoun is the same, but with how awful his start to 2019 was, its pretty impressive that hes brought his OPS all the way back up to league average. Upton started the season injured but has made a bit of a push as the season gets on, even though his numbers arent particularly exciting across the entire year. The Angels also have a couple of players who have been trending upward after slow starts in the form of Justin Upton and Kole Calhoun.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Mike Trout has easily been the Angels best player for the 2019 season. In 122 games hes slashed a ridiculous-for-anyone-other-than-Mike-Trout .296/.440/.660 with 42 homers and 27 doubles. The past 7 games havent been quite as nice to him, but Im sure no ones complaining about a .944 OPS. He is definitely on a trajectory for yet another MVP-caliber season.

The other side of the coin there is that that will also allow Houston to creep to within one game of the Yankees for best record in the AL if that happens. Theyre currently threatening to sweep the Yankees as of this writing and will be 7 games behind the Astros if theyre able to hold on and make that happen. While Houston did take 3 of 4 to stay ahead of the As, Oakland is definitely knocking hard on the door.

Astros Snapshot

Dillon Peters draws the start tonight for LA as he enters with a 3-1 record, 3.92 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 36 strikeouts over 41 1/3 innings of work. Los Angeles lost by a score of 5-4 Friday night at Houston to drop to 63-68 overall and 30-37 on the road. Albert Pujols finished 2-for-4 with an RBI, while David Fletcher went 2-for-5. Kole Calhoun led the Angels offense as he was a perfect 4-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored. Jose Suarez took the loss as he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and two walks over 4 2/3 innings pitched.

Its unclear what the plan is for the moment here, if the Astros will call up a fresh arm for a spot start or simply run with a bullpen game. This spot would normally belong to Aaron Sanchez but hes currently on the IL with a pectoral muscle issue. With Cy Sneed in the pen and stretched out as a starter in AAA, it wouldnt be outside the realm of possibility to see him get the ball.
