Our Prediction:

Texas will win

Louisiana Tech – Texas Match Prediction | 26-08-2019 20:00

A bit more up front will make Jaqwis Dancy a factor after averaging over five yards per carry with a team-high 667 yards and nine scores. The lack of a steady commitment to the ground game had a whole lot to do with that. The backfield could use a little more thump, but the backs are fine. The running game failed to hit the 2,000-yard markfor the first time since 2013, averaging fewer than four yards per carry.

However, I think the Bulldogs will give them a run for their money after seeing how the Red Raiders' defense can be exploited. Austin in the first game of the season, the Red Raiders could collectanother blowout victory. If Texas Tech does well on defense like itdid against Stephen F. Even if that happens, I still don't see the Bulldogs leaving Lubbock with the win. This one could be close for some time, but Mahomes and the offense is too strong to let this one get away.

They are 48th in the nation in points allowed on defense with 81. Louisiana Tech has committed 17 penalties for 195 yards on the defensive side of the ball this season. They have surrendered a total of 1,003 yards on D, which is 13th in the country. The Bulldogs rush defense has allowed 131 attempts for 505 yards this year, putting them in 48th place in D-1 against the run. The Bulldogs are ranked 32nd in yards per play allowed with 4.8. Opposing offenses have completed 45 passes on 76 attempts against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs defense this season, placing them 8th and 5th in Division 1. The Louisiana Tech pass defense has also given up a total of 498 yards through the air, which is 6th overall in total pass defense. That ranks them 45th in college football.

The Mean Green have had 27 penalties for 227 yards on defense this year. The North Texas Mean Green pass defense has also surrendered a total of 836 yards in the air, which is 70th overall in total pass defense. That places them 77th in college football. Louisiana Tech

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs won their 2nd straight game and improved to 17-10 (7-7 C-USA) on the season after defeating the UTSA Roadrunners, 72-67, this past Saturday. In a tight back and forth game, Louisiana Tech was able to pull away for the win late after a pair of RaShawn Langston FTs made it a two possession game for the Bulldogs with just :11 seconds left in regulation. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was DaQuan Bracey who had 23 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists, and a steal. Louisiana Tech held UTSA to just 42.0% shooting from the field and 17.2% shooting from beyond the arc.

He's completed 105 throws while attempting 162 passes for a completion percentage of 64.8%. As a team they have accumulated a total of 109 1st downs this season, ranking them 10th overall as an offensive unit. Mason Fine has passed for 1,328 yards this year. They've run 160 times, averaging 4.1 yards per rush as a unit. On the ground North Texas has run for 663 yards as a unit, which ranks 71st in college football. His quarterback rating this season is 152.8. They have run 333 plays this year for 2,044 yards, which ranks them 9th in Division 1 in total offense.

The Bulldogs ranked No. The Fighting Irish finished the year second in points allowed per game (12.8) and went to the 2013 BCS National Championship Game. Cincinnati finished the season ranking 44th in points allowed per game (23.1) and 23rd in sacks (37.0). In turn, La. 27 in total defense, allowing 23.0 points, 191.6 passing yards, and 149.7 rushing yards per game. For example, the Miami Hurricanes were impressed enough to snatch defensive coordinator Blake Baker away. Diaco was the defensive coordinator at Cincinnati in 2009 under head coach Brian Kelly. Kelly took Diaco with him when he moved to Notre Dame. The programs defensive success did not go unnoticed. Tech hired Bob Diaco to fill the spot. Diaco had since receded into obscurity.

North Texas defeated Louisiana Tech by a 63-59 margin at home in early January and although the Mean Green might not snap their losing streak, I think the North Texas will keep it close enough to cover with the points. North Texas hasnt been playing their best basketball as of late, however, I like the depth that Mean Green have and believe that their solid defense will be able to give the Bulldogs some trouble. Good Luck!

The Bulldogs have an ATS record of 2-1-0 while their over/under record is 3-0-0. The opening line for this game has North Texas as 7 point favorites. The North Texas Mean Green host the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at Apogee Stadium on Saturday, September 29, 2018. The Mean Green have an over/under record of 0-4-0 and they are 3-1-0 against the spread.

Kliff Kingsbury said the blocking has also improved, so the Red Raiders will look to get into the end zone on big plays coming off of screens and viathe run game. He has thrown for more than200 yards in the first half in each of hisfirst two games. So, like always, look for him to put up the stats quick. Mahomes is at the top of the nation in passing and total offense.

And the worst may be yet to come. On the other hand, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 were lean and ugly years. As hinted above, 2018 already saw a decline from the previous season. And the answer is yes, yes there is. Since 2010 there has been a clear pattern in Texas. Now the question is, is there any reason to believe history will repeat? That year and 2011, 2014 and 2017 were fat and sleek.
